Abstract:
This valve device comprises a valve member, a housing, and a first seal. The valve member includes a shaft part rotatable about a rotation axis, and a rotator connected to an end of the shaft part in a first direction along the rotation axis, and having a first flow path with a first opening formed on an outer peripheral surface. The housing is formed with a storage part storing the valve member, and a second flow path with a second opening on an inner peripheral surface of the storage part, the second opening being communicable with the first opening. The first seal is installed between the outer peripheral surface of the rotor and the inner peripheral surface of the storage part. The rotor includes a first region on which pressure in a first direction is exerted from a coolant in the storage part, and a second region on which pressure in a second direction opposite to the first direction is exerted from the coolant. A first area of the first region is less than a second area of the second region.
