Abstract:
In the present invention, an in-wheel motor comprises: a support structure that describes the shape of an axially extending cylinder, one axial-direction side of which being attached to a vehicle body; a wheel having a cylindrical part surrounding the support structure from the outer circumferential side and a disc part that closes off the other axial-direction side of the cylindrical part; a bearing that supports the wheel such that the wheel can rotate relative to the support structure about the axis; a drive device having a casing that is fitted into the inner circumferential surface of the support structure and an output shaft that is accommodated inside the casing and enabled to be rotatably driven about an axis, said output shaft protruding from the casing to the other axial-direction side; a key member that connects the output shaft and the disc part so as to prevent relative rotation but allow relative movement in the axial direction; and a restricting member that restricts the relative axial-direction movement between the output shaft and the disc part to a prescribed range.
