Abstract:
Provided is a safety device with which alerts can be issued at a preferred frequency on the basis of the presence or absence of sensed objects around a work machine. The safety device comprises a sensing unit, an alert device, an operation detector, and a control unit. The sensing unit senses sensed objects present around the work machine. The alert device issues alerts. The operation detector detects a target operation amount, which is the magnitude of an alert-targeted operation. The control unit causes the alert device to issue an operation alert only when a sensed object is present in an alert area set around the work machine and the target operation amount exceeds an allowable operation amount set in advance, and stops the issuing of the operation alert when the target operation amount is equal to or less than the allowable operation amount, regardless of sensed objects.
