Abstract:
Provided is a safety device capable of stably performing safety control for a work machine. The safety device comprises a position information acquisition unit and a control unit. The position information acquisition unit periodically acquires position information pertaining to the position of a detection target around the work machine. When current information, which is the position information acquired at the current time, changes in a direction of drawing closer to the work machine than previous information, which is the position information acquired the previous time, the control unit performs safety control corresponding to the current information. When a change suppression condition is satisfied, which includes the current information changing in a direction of moving further away from the work machine that the previous information, the control unit executes control change suppression for suppressing the change in the safety control corresponding to the change in the position information, and the control unit cancels the control change suppression at the point in time when a predetermined time has elapsed since the control change suppression was started.
