Abstract:
A self-driving ECU according to the present invention determines whether or not detection performance of a front camera falls below a requirement level required for continuing self-driving within a predetermined prediction time period, on the basis of dynamic map data acquired from a map server and time series data of a detection result of the front camera. When the detection performance is determined to fall below the requirement level, the self-driving ECU starts predetermined ad hoc control, which is not carried out in normal times, before the detection performance actually falls below the requirement level. The ad hoc control includes, for example, an increase in an inter-vehicle distance setting value, a decrease in vehicle speed, and the like in automatic speed adjustment control.
