Abstract:
The energy of a load inputted from a chain or a belt is effectively reduced by a simple configuration. A tensioner (10) comprises: a support member (12); a propelling member (32) supported on the support member (12) so as to be able to linearly reciprocate in a first direction (X); and a contact-type mainspring (34) which is disposed adjacent to the propelling member (32) in a second direction (Y) orthogonal to the first direction (X), which has as a winding axis direction a third direction (Z) orthogonal to the first direction (X) and the second direction (Y), an inner end part (34B) of which is locked to the support member (12), an outer end part (34C) of which is locked to the propelling member (32), which urges the propelling member (32) in an advancing direction (X1), and which is tightened by movement of the propelling member (32) in a receding direction (X2).
