This system comprises a position determination unit that determines whether a vehicle is positioned in a guide area that includes a guide having a recess/protrusion structure and is provided to a road surface, a contact determination unit that determines whether the wheels of the vehicle have come into contact with an obstacle, and a control unit that controls the traveling of the vehicle in accordance with a determination result from the position determination unit and a determination result from the contact determination unit. If it is determined by the position determination unit that the vehicle is not positioned in the guide area and it is determined by the contact determination unit that the wheels of the vehicle are in contact with an obstacle, the control unit executes first control in which the vehicle is caused to travel so as to follow a target trajectory or the vehicle is stopped. If it is determined by the position determination unit that the vehicle is positioned in the guide area and it is determined by the contact determination unit that the wheels of the vehicle are in contact with an obstacle, the control unit executes second control in which the vehicle is caused to travel so as to follow the obstacle.
