Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a synthetic bow hair for bowed stringed instruments, which has satisfactory moisture resistance and durability, also has a high surface friction force, rarely undergoes the adhesion of pine rosin, and also rarely undergoes the detachment of pine rosin applied to the surface thereof. The solution for the problem is a synthetic bow hair for bowed stringed instruments, the synthetic bow hair comprising a synthetic fiber, in which the synthetic fiber is formed from a first thermoplastic polymer that is a matrix and a second thermoplastic polymer that is incompatible with the first thermoplastic polymer and has a different melting point from that of the first thermoplastic polymer, the surface of the synthetic fiber has an uneven shape, a projecting part in the uneven shape is formed from the first thermoplastic polymer, the (first thermoplastic polymer)/(second thermoplastic polymer) ratio is 70/30 to 95/5 by weight, and the synthetic fiber has a mean frictional coefficient (MIU) of 0.060 to 0.180, a frictional coefficient mean deviation (MMD) of 0.0020 to 0.0100, and a diameter of 100 to 500 μm.
