Abstract:
According to the present invention, a plurality of candidate symbol sequences that are candidates for transmission signal sequences formed from transmission symbols are generated by using each of the plurality of generated candidate symbol sequences as input sequences, an estimated reception symbol is output that is obtained as an output when given to a function approximator for approximating a transfer function of a transmission channel for transmitting the transmission signal sequences, an estimated transmission symbol corresponding to a determination target reception symbol sequence is identified by determining a transmission symbol by means of maximum likelihood sequence estimation on the basis of the determination target reception symbol sequence obtained from the reception signal sequence when the transmission channel transmits the transmission signal sequence and the estimated reception symbol for each candidate symbol sequence, and when using, as an input sequence, the transmission signal sequence transmitted when the reception signal sequence is received or a sequence obtained from the estimated transmission signal sequence formed from the estimated transmission symbols, the function approximator is optimized so that the determination target reception symbols forming the determination target reception symbol sequence are obtained as an output.
