Abstract:
Provided is a sliding component having smooth torque behavior. In a sliding component 10, 20 in which a pair of sliding surfaces 11, 21 rotate relative to one another, dynamic pressure grooves 13 being formed in at least one of the pair of sliding surfaces 11, 21, and which demarcates a sealed fluid space S1 and a leakage space S2, microgrooves 14 that are shallower than the dynamic pressure grooves 13 and that extend in a circumferential direction are disposed in at least either of the sliding surfaces 11, and the microgrooves 14 extend so as to traverse distal end regions 13a that are further toward a distal end 13B side than half W12 of a radial width dimension W1 of the dynamic pressure grooves 13.
