Abstract:
Provided is a sliding component that can stably reduce friction resistance between sliding surfaces in conjunction with eccentric rotation. This sliding component 7 has a sliding surface 7a that is formed in a circular shape and undergoes relative sliding in conjunction with eccentric rotation. The sliding surface 7a is provided with a dynamic pressure generation groove 70 that is formed in a circular shape along the sliding surface 7a, and a plurality of communication grooves 71 enabling communication between the dynamic pressure generation groove 70 and a space 50 on the outside of the sliding surface 7a, and the communication grooves 71 are arranged in a relationship such that a hypothetical line LN passing through a center point Q of the sliding surface 7a and one communication groove 71A does not intersect other communication grooves 71B-71C.
