Abstract:
Provided is a piston for an internal combustion engine, the piston being able to suppress the adhesion of discharged cooling material to a cylinder. A piston 11 comprises a piston head 3 and a cylinder 4. The piston head 3 has formed therein: a cooling channel 5; an inflow hole 51; and an outflow hole 52. The outflow hole 52 links the cooling channel 5 and a bottom surface section 35, and a cooling material that has flowed through the cooling channel 5 is discharged. An extension direction L1 of the outflow hole 52 is inclined in a direction of separation from the inner wall surface of the cylinder.
