Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint method of a member made of aluminum alloy which hardly affects base material and can secure high joint strength without performing heat treatment or the like.SOLUTION: A joint method of a member made of aluminum alloy includes a joint process of performing friction stir joining of at least a first member (W1) and a second member (W2). Therein, at least one side of the first member and the second member is made of an aluminum alloy wrought material and the aluminum alloy, when the whole is set as 100 mass% (merely presented in "%"), contains Fe of 2 to 7%, Zr of 0.2 to 1.5%, Ti of 0.15 to 1.2%, Mg of 0.2 to 2.5%, the remainder of Al and inevitable impurities. A joint member obtained thus is suited for a forged piston with a cooling channel obtained, for example, by performing friction stir joining of an annular assembly to a forged main body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4A
