Abstract:
An operation area surface detection apparatus and a cleaning robot (10). The operation area surface detection apparatus comprises a signal transmission module (20) and a signal reception module (30), wherein the signal transmission module (20) comprises a light emission part (201) and a first light path changing part (202), the first light path changing part (202) being arranged on a transmission light path of the light emission part (201), and being used for converting light emitted by the light emission part (201) into first light, which is approximately parallel light tilted at a first angle (α) toward the direction of the signal reception module (30); and the signal reception module (30) comprises a light reception part (301), a preset spacing distance being set between the light emission part (201) and the light reception part (301), such that the light reception part (301) receives at least one portion of second light, which is light from the first light reflected via the surface of an operation area, and the light intensity of the at least one portion of second light being used for determining the material of the surface of the operation area.
