Abstract:
In a production method according to the present invention, heated air is blown under the following conditions onto a web including thermally fusible fibers that have a fiber diameter of not more than 15 μm, so as to thermally fuse the points of intersection between the fibers constituting the web. In the production method, the hot air is preferably blown onto the web under the following conditions. (1) When Mp is defined as the melting point of the resin having the lowest melting point among resin constituting the thermally fusible fibers, the temperature T1 of the surface of the web that is on the opposite side from the surface onto which hot air is blown is not lower than Mp and not higher than Mp+15°C. (2) The temperature T1 is lower than the temperature T2 of the surface of the web onto which hot air is blown, and the difference between the temperature T1 and the temperature T2 is 10-35°C. (3) The supply speed of the hot air is 0.30-0.60 m/sec.
