Abstract:
Provided is a needle assembly having a novel structure allowing air on the side closer to the needle tip than a valve body to be discharged while preventing blood from leaking.　The needle assembly 10 is provided with: a hollow needle body 12; a cylindrical valve housing 14 provided on the base end side of the needle body 12; and a valve body 44 housed in the inner cavity 16 of the valve housing 14 and switching between communication and blocking of the inner cavity 16 in the valve housing 14. The needle assembly 10 is provided with an air bleeding path 48 that traverses the valve housing 14. The air bleeding path 48 communicates with the inner cavity 16 of the valve housing 14 on the side closer to the needle tip of the needle body 12 than the valve body 44. Provided midway along the air bleeding path 48 is a liquid accumulation portion 50 having a locally increased cross-sectional area.
