Abstract:
This multi-row tapered roller bearing comprises: an outer ring (2) that is a bearing ring with an annular shape; an inner ring (5) that is a bearing ring with an annular shape and is positioned on the inner circumference side of the outer ring (2); and rollers (6). Two grooves (19), the bottom surfaces of which will become rolling surfaces, are formed in an outer circumferential surface of the inner ring (5), said outer circumferential surface facing the outer ring (2). The rollers (6) are conically shaped rollers that are in contact with the outer ring (2) and are positioned in the interior of the grooves so as to also be in contact with the rolling surfaces of the inner ring (5). On the outer circumferential surface of the inner ring (5), an area adjacent to the grooves (19) includes a hardened area (15) that extends from the inner circumferential surfaces of the grooves to said area, and a non-hardened area (18) that has a lower hardness than the hardened area (15) and is positioned in a location that is farther away from the grooves (19) than the hardened area (15) is.
