The present application relates to the technical field of communications. Disclosed are a monitoring method and apparatus, a wake-up signal transmission method and apparatus, a terminal, and a network-side device. The monitoring method in embodiments of the present application comprises: a terminal obtains wake-up signal configuration information; the terminal performs detection on a wake-up signal within a first duration according to the wake-up signal configuration information, the first duration being a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring time period configured by a network-side device; the terminal determines a monitoring behavior of a target channel according to a wake-up signal detection result, the target channel comprising at least one of the following: the PDCCH; a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH); and a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH).
