Abstract:
Provided is a method for manufacturing an impact-absorbing member of which the shape can be set relatively freely, which is lightweight, and which provides high collision safety. The method for manufacturing an impact-absorbing member comprises: disposing a resin sheet in a pair of upper and lower molds having a sheet pressing surface and a sheet non-contacting part, the resin sheet comprising a stack of thermoplastic resin layers containing inorganic fibers oriented in a planar direction; pressing the resin sheet that has been heated in a thickness direction with the pressing surface; and blocking the resin sheet flowing out to the non-contacting part in the molds with a mold inner surface substantially orthogonal to a flowing direction.
