Abstract:
The present invention provides medical waste treatment equipment that makes it possible to safely and efficiently treat medical waste on the grounds of a medical facility and can reduce treatment costs. The present invention comprises a fermentation and drying device 2 that uses microorganisms to decompose the organic components of medical waste and discharges a fermented and dried material produced from the medical waste. The fermentation and drying device 2 includes a sealed container 21, a vacuum pump 25, an accommodation part heating part H, and a stirring device 22. The present invention also comprises a risk of infection chamber R that accommodates the fermentation and drying device 2, a discharge conveyor 4 that transports the fermented and dried material discharged from the fermentation and drying device 2, and an uninfected chamber S that is partitioned from the risk of infection chamber R by a partition wall W1. A starting end part of the discharge conveyor 4 is connected to the fermentation and drying device 2 inside the risk of infection chamber R. A middle part of the discharge conveyor 4 passes through the partition wall W1. A terminal end part of the discharge conveyor 4 is arranged inside the uninfected chamber S.
