Disclosed in the present application is an image rendering method. The method comprises: rendering a first data frame according to a first resolution, so as to obtain a first image frame, wherein the first data frame is the first data frame of an application scenario in an application, which is currently run by an electronic device; rendering a plurality of second data frames according to a second resolution, so as to obtain a plurality of second image frames, wherein the second resolution is lower than the first resolution, and the plurality of second data frames are subsequent data frames in the application scenario; and compensating rendered data of each of the plurality of second image frames by taking the first image frame as a reference frame. By means of the solution provided by the present application, only a first data frame is rendered according to a high resolution, other data frames of an application scenario are rendered according to a low resolution, and rendered data of each second image frame is then compensated by taking the first image frame as a reference frame, such that a high-picture-quality image can be provided by relatively low computing power during image rendering.
