Abstract:
A hydraulic actuator (1) provided with a tube (10) capable of expansion and contraction, a sleeve (20) covering the outer surface of the tube (10), a pair of sealing members (30) for sealing the two ends 11 of the tube (10), and multiple inner pieces (40, 50) disposed inside the tube (10). The multiple inner pieces (40, 50) are provided with a constrained side (57) where adjacent inner pieces contact each other inside the tube (10) when not pressurized by fluid pressure, and a swinging side (59) wherein gaps (61) occur that allow adjacent inner pieces to swing with respect to each other at locations facing the constrained side (57). The actuator is also provided with constraining mechanisms (43, 53, 80) for holding the multiple inner pieces (40, 50) in a state such that adjacent inner pieces contact each other on the constrained side (57) even in the tube (10) when pressurized with fluid pressure.
