Abstract:
The present invention provides: a heater in which heat generation performance at the boundaries between a plurality of heat-generating cells is improved such that the uniformity of heat in the entire heater is improved; and a fixing device, an image formation device, and a heating device which each comprise this heater. Provided is a heater characterized in that heat-generating cells that are separated by a boundary line are arranged side-by-side on a substrate, said heater comprising resistive heating wires which are respectively formed in each heat-generating cell, in each of which parallel wiring and turn-back wiring are connected, and the entirety of each of which has a zig-zag shape, said parallel wiring being a plurality of lines formed in parallel, said turn-back wiring being formed such that the parallel wiring turns back in the vicinity of the boundary line between adjacent heat-generating cells, wherein: in adjacent heat-generating cells, the resistive heating wire of one heat-generating cell has an extending part that is formed such that the parallel wiring extends past the boundary line, and in the resistive heating wire of the other heat-generating cell, the wiring at a position opposite from the extending part is shortened or changed in shape so as to maintain electrical insulation from the extending part; and the resistive heating wires of adjacent heat-generating cells have extending parts in an alternating manner along the boundary line direction.
