Abstract:
Provided are a fastening method and a fastening device capable of rapidly performing an operation of fastening a plurality of workpieces by a fastener made of a fiber-reinforced resin. In the fastening method of the present invention, the first and second workpieces W1 are provided with through holes W10, W20, respectively. In addition, an intermediate member 111 is made of a carbon-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin, includes a first head portion 11a and a shaft portion 11b, and also includes a carbon fiber CF extending from the first head portion 11a to the shaft portion 11b. This fastening method includes a shaft portion heating step and a fastening step. In the shaft portion heating step, the shaft portion 11 is heated by the high-frequency induction coil 3b that can perform induction heating. In the fastening step, by pressurizing the heated shaft portion 11b in a state in which the shaft portion 11b is inserted through the insertion holes W10, W20 of the first and second workpieces W1, W2, a second head portion 11b facing the first head portion 11a is formed by a fastening mold. As a result, the first and second workpieces W1, W2 are fastened with the intermediate tool 111 as a fastener 11.
