Abstract:
This exhaust pipe is provided with a metal pipe, an inorganic porous layer provided to a part of the inner surface of the metal pipe through which exhaust gas passes, and a coating layer provided to the surface of the inorganic porous layer. The inorganic porous layer of the exhaust pipe has a porosity of 45 vol% or more, includes ceramic fibers, and is formed from 15 mass% or more of an alumina component and 45 mass% or more of a titania component. In addition, the coating layer has a porosity of less than 45 vol%.
