The present invention relates to an elevatable chamber and a method for operating same and, specifically, to an elevatable chamber including a chamber body, a chamber frame, an air cylinder, and a control unit as elements thereof, and a method for operating same, wherein when using the chamber body consisting of a lower body and an upper body to allow electrolyte impregnation, if the operation of the upper body driven by the air cylinder is in an abnormal state, the upper body is controlled such that the upper body is prevented from moving any further, thereby ensuring the safety of a worker, and when the upper body descends, the weight of the upper body is adjusted by adjusting the pressure of the air compressed in the air cylinder, thereby preventing damage to the chamber and improving the working environment.
