Abstract:
Provided are an electrode assembly and a battery. The electrode assembly comprises a first electrode plate, a second electrode plate and a separator, wherein the separator is arranged between the first electrode plate and the second electrode plate; the first electrode plate comprises a first current collector and a first active material layer located on the first current collector; the side surface of the first active material layer corresponding to the second electrode plate is provided with a groove; the second electrode plate comprises a second current collector, a second active material layer and a preset tab; the second active material layer is provided with a tab recess for accommodating the preset tab; and the projection of the tab recess in a thickness direction of the electrode assembly is located in a projection region of the groove in the thickness direction of the electrode assembly.
