Abstract:
A device 1 for manufacturing a glass plate by breaking a glass ribbon 2 being conveyed downward in a vertical posture in a width direction to cut out a part-to-be-cut 3 from the glass ribbon 2 as a glass plate 4, the device 1 including a breaking mechanism 8 for breaking the glass ribbon 2 while holding the part-to-be-cut 3, wherein the breaking mechanism 8 includes: a holding member 10 for capturing and holding the part-to-be-cut 3 at the normal position P1; and a correction member 11 for correcting a position shift of the part-to-be-cut 3 from the normal position P1 in a thickness direction before the part-to-be-cut 3 is held by the holding member 10.
