Abstract:
A communication method and apparatus, which are used for determining an anchor of a terminal device to be on a satellite. The method comprises: a policy control function network element determining that the type of a terminal device backhaul network is a satellite backhaul type; determining policy information of a terminal device according to the satellite backhaul type and service deployment information; and sending the policy information to the terminal device, wherein the policy information comprises a correspondence between a first-type service and a first-type routing policy, the service deployment information comprises deployment information of the first-type service deployed on a satellite, and the first-type routing policy is used for determining a user plane function network element on the satellite as a session anchor of the terminal device. In this way, a policy control function network element can sense the type of a terminal device backhaul network, and determine suitable policy information for a terminal device when the type of the terminal device backhaul network is a satellite backhaul type, such that the terminal device selects a routing policy corresponding to a service that is deployed on a satellite, thereby ensuring that an anchor of the terminal device is determined to be on the satellite, and thus reducing the communication delay of a service, and improving the user experience.
