Abstract:
Proposed are a brake device and a wrap spring device capable of achieving an improvement in fastening force while suppressing an increase in backlash. This brake device (100) comprises: a shaft (2); a wrap spring device (1) wound around the shaft (2); and an actuator (3) which applies, to the wrap spring device (1), a force in a direction in which the spring inner diameter increases. The wrap spring device (1) has a plurality of springs (4) wound around the shaft (2). In addition, the wrap spring device (1) has: a plurality of springs (4) wound around the shaft (2); a first tongue (5) to which a first end section of each of the plurality of springs (4) is fixed; and a second tongue (6) to which a second end section of each of the plurality of springs (4) is fixed.
