Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a conjugate fiber having good yarn-processing stability and excellent electrical conductivity.
CONSTITUTION: This conjugate fiber is composed of a non-conductive layer A composed of a fiber-forming polymer and an electrically conductive layer B composed of a thermoplastic polymer containing particles of a conductive metal compound. The thermoplastic polymer is composed of a polyether expressed by formula Z'(R1O)n(R2O)mR3'k (Z is hydroxyl group or an organic compound residue having 1-2 active hydrogen atoms; R1 is a 2-3C alkylene; R2 is a ≥6C alkylene; R3 is H or a hydroarbon group; k is 1 or 2; n is an integer satisfying the formula k×n≥70; m is an integer of ≥1) and a polymer incompatible with the polyether. The ratio of the polyether in the fiber is 0.2-10wt.%.
