Abstract:
A shift device comprising: a gear shift; a magnet that, accompanying an operation of the gear shift in a first operation direction, moves in a trajectory substantially parallel to the x-axis direction along a first virtual plane that is parallel to an XY plane and, accompanying the operation of the gear shift in a second operation direction, moves in a trajectory substantially parallel to the x-axis direction along a second virtual plane that is different from the first virtual plane; a magnetic sensor that outputs spatial coordinate data that changes according to the position of the magnet; and a determination circuit, wherein the determination circuit converts the spatial coordinate data into first coordinate data decided using first angle data, being the ZX coordinate argument in a ZX orthogonal coordinate system, and second angle data, being the ZY coordinate argument in a ZY orthogonal coordinate system, converts the first coordinate data into second coordinate data in a single quadrant of a two-dimensional orthogonal coordinate system, and specifies the operation position of the gear shift according to the distance from a reference point in the two-dimensional orthogonal coordinate system to the second coordinate data.
