Abstract:
A shadow rendering method and apparatus, an electronic device, and a readable storage medium, relating to the technical field of image rendering. The method comprises: determining scene ranges corresponding to a plurality of first levels (201); for any one of the plurality of first levels, on the basis of the scene range corresponding to any first level, determining a first virtual object corresponding to any first level (202); on the basis of the first virtual object corresponding to any first level, determining a projection depth map corresponding to any first level, wherein the projection depth map corresponding to any first level is used for describing distances from a plurality of first vertices to a light source (203); and rendering shadows in first visual scenes on the basis of projection depth maps corresponding to the plurality of first levels (204). According to the present application, the occupancy of storage resources is reduced, and shadows can be updated in real time, thereby improving the expression effect of the shadows and the fidelity of the virtual scene.
