Abstract:
In order to resolve the drawback, relating to the provision of a ground-contacting device having a damper function in an item of furniture, that a ground-contacting body becomes greatly sunken when a large load acts on the furniture body, and the damper function is liable to be impaired if this large load acts repeatedly or in the form of an impact, an item of furniture (furniture D with a top plate) is provided with: a ground-contacting device 4 which has a damper function and which resiliently supports a furniture body 1 on a floor surface F; and a drop suppressing member 14 which suppresses a dropping motion of the furniture body 1 midway through a resiliently supportable range provided by the ground-contacting device 4.
