Abstract:
There is demand for a drill that is capable of performing a stable cutting process and that has excellent chip discharge properties. A drill based on one aspect of the present disclosure has a body extending along a rotational axis. The body has a first outer peripheral surface, a first discharge groove, and a second discharge groove. The first outer peripheral surface has a first margin, a second margin, and a first clearance. The first margin extends farther toward a second end than does the second margin. The second margin has a first region and a second region. The width of the second region in the circumferential direction of the rotating shaft decreases with increasing proximity to the second end and distance from the first end. The second discharge groove has a first site and a second site. The width of the second site in the circumferential direction increases with increasing proximity to the second end and distance from the first end.
