Abstract:
A dish washer according to a disclosed aspect of the invention may comprise: a tub; a door for opening/closing the tub; an input device for receiving selection of a washing course; and an automatic detergent injection device provided to inject solid detergent into the tub. The automatic detergent injection device may comprise: a storage chamber provided such that, when the tub is closed by the door, multiple pieces of solid detergent are stacked in the upward/downward direction and loaded therein; an ejector for discharging one of the multiple pieces of solid detergent loaded in the storage chamber out of the storage chamber; a seating portion on which solid detergent discharged from the storage chamber can be seated; a sensing portion for sensing whether solid detergent is seated on the seating portion; and a processor for controlling the ejector, if selection of a washing course is input through the input device, and if multiple pieces of solid detergent are loaded in the storage chamber, such that one of the multiple pieces of solid detergent stored in the storage chamber is discharged from the storage chamber and seated on the seating portion, and for determining whether solid detergent is seated on the seating portion on the basis of the result of sensing by the sensing portion.
