Abstract:
A novel method for suppressing wave-making of a ship. A plurality of wave-making water inlets (15) are arranged at the bow and two sides of the ship below a waterline of the ship. The wave-making water inlets (15) are associated with a propulsion device water inlet having both a propelling function and a wave drawing function and provided at an inner side of the ship below the waterline. When the ship travels, a propulsion device (1) draws in water from outside of the bow and the two sides, and expels same via the stern, so that the water becomes a part of a propelling water flow. The ship is not provided with a bulbous bow. A device employing a novel structure for suppressing wave-making of ship, wherein a wave-making water inlet (15) thereof has at least one of a flat-top water inlet structure, a protruding flat-top water inlet structure, or a protruding forward-tilted water inlet structure. The method and device reduce wave-making resistance acting on a traveling ship, and increase a force pushing the ship.
