Abstract:
An energy storage system according to one embodiment of the present invention may comprise: a plurality of BMSs provided in correspondence with a plurality of batteries, respectively; and an upper control device which collects state information about the plurality of batteries from the plurality of BMSs and monitors or controls the plurality of batteries on the basis of the collected state information. When state information of a first battery is not received from a first BMS due to a loss of communication, the upper control device can select a second battery from among the plurality of batteries on the basis of saved history information about the batteries, and use state information of the second battery as the state information of the first battery.
