Abstract:
This workpiece sensing device detects the approach of a workpiece, the workpiece sensing device having an electrostatic capacitance sensor having a detection electrode, and a structural body at least a portion of which is movable with respect to the detection electrode. The structural body has a base having an insulating property, and a conductor provided to the base and constantly maintaining electrostatic capacitance between itself and the detection electrode during the movement of the structural body with respect to the detection electrode. The conductor has: a first electrode part provided on the base in a position facing the detection electrode; a second electrode part with at least one among a portion of the base and a space being interposed between itself and the first electrode part, the second electrode part being provided on the base in a position facing the workpiece; and a connecting part that electrically connects the first electrode part and the second electrode part.
