Abstract:
A wheel module (200) according to one embodiment comprises: a brake unit (20); a restriction release unit (40); and a release detection sensor (61). The brake unit (20) includes: a brake disc (21) that rotates together with a rotation shaft (17) of a drive unit (12); a friction plate (22) that slidingly contacts the brake disc (21) to restrict the rotation of the rotation shaft (17); a spring member (25) that biases the friction plate (22) to the brake disc (17) side; and an electromagnetic coil (26) that, upon being energized, releases the restriction of the rotation of the rotation shaft (17). The release detection sensor (61) detects that the restriction of the rotation of the rotation shaft (17) has been released by the restriction release unit (40).
