Abstract:
Provided is a linear motion mechanism end part seal material that is highly dust resistant and has high lubricity in the presence of fine dust, such as paper dust, that is a few µm and diminishes lubricity. In particular, a simple end part seal member that stays highly dust resistant and maintains high lubricity over the long term, is easy to install and replace, is easy to handle, has high tracking performance, and has a large range of adjustment. An end part seal material 9 that is to be attached to both ends of a slider 8 of a linear motion mechanism 6 that comprises a rail 7 and the slider 8. The end part seal material 9 has: a support frame body 11 that is arranged on the outer circumference of the rail 7; a base fabric part 12 that has a back surface that is fixed to an inner circumferential surface of the support frame body 11; and a cut pile 10 that protrudes from a top surface of the base fabric part 12. A pile end part of the cut pile 10 curves and contacts the rail 7 so as to close a gap between the rail and the support frame body 11. A lubricant is introduced between pile fibers of the cut pile 10 in advance.
