Title:
WEIZMANNIA COAGULANS CAPABLE OF INHIBITING ACTIVITY OF ALPHA-GLUCOSIDASE AND/OR ALPHA-AMYLASE AND USE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2024/037588
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided are a Weizmannia coagulans capable of inhibiting the activity of alpha-glucosidase and/or alpha-amylase and use thereof. A Weizmannia coagulans SA9 strain is preserved in Guangdong Microbial Culture Collection Center on June 6, 2022 with the collection number of GDMCC NO: 62517. Researches show that the SA9 strain has relatively high capacity in producing acid and scavenging DPPH free radical, has a relatively high inhibition effect on the key enzyme alpha-glucosidase causing blood glucose rise, and achieves no less than 80% of the efficiency of acarbose, a diabetes drug. Moreover, the strain also has excellent inhibition capability on alpha-amylase, the inhibition rate of a fermentation liquid thereof on the alpha-amylase reaches 100%, the effect is equivalent to that of acarbose, but the strain has better safety and no toxic or side effects. The SA9 strain can be used as an efficient strain for controlling blood glucose, can relieve diabetes, and has a positive effect on the prevention and treatment of diabetes.
