Title:
WAVELENGTH SELECTION SWITCH
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2023/136357
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a low-loss wavelength selection switch in which loss due to a torsional effect of liquid crystal molecules in an LCOS peripheral part (17b) is reduced. The wavelength selection switch has: one or more input ports (10, 11); one or more output ports (18, 19); a polarization adjuster (12) for adjusting the polarization state of light incident from the input port; a dispersive element (14) for demultiplexing wavelength-multiplexed light incident from the input port; and a deflection element for controlling deflection of the demultiplexed light, the deflection element being a liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) element (17), on an incidence surface of which is provided an optical compensation layer (16) for compensating for diffraction loss of a peripheral part.
