Abstract:
A water treatment method in which water to be treated that contains a hardness component is treated with a cation exchanger to remove the hardness component is provided with which it is possible to inhibit slime formation while inhibiting the cation exchanger from deteriorating, thereby reducing the frequency of regenerating the cation exchanger. The water treatment method, in which water to be treated that contains a hardness component is treated with a cation exchanger to remove the hardness component, includes, before the treatment with the cation exchanger, adding an oxidizing agent to the water to be treated, so as to result in a concentration of the oxidizing agent in the range of 0.01-2.0 mg-Cl/L.
