Abstract:
A water treatment chemical for membranes, which can be used for preventing the contamination of a membrane by an organic compound having a phenolic hydroxy group, and which contains an organic amine having at least two nitrogen atoms and also having at least five carboxyl groups or at least four phosphate groups. A method for treating a membrane, comprising adding the water treatment chemical for membranes to water of interest which contains an organic compound having a phenolic hydroxy group and then carrying out a membrane separation treatment.
