Abstract:
A water softening device (1) comprises a soft water tank (3 and 5) that carries out water softening on a hardness component-containing raw water using a weakly acidic cation exchange resin; a neutralization tank (4 and 6) that carries out neutralization, using a weakly basic anion exchange resin, of soft water that has passed through the soft water tank; an electrolysis tank (9) that produces alkaline electrolyzed water; an ion concentration measurement unit (56) that measures the ion concentration of the alkaline electrolyzed water produced by the electrolysis tank; and a control unit (15) that controls a regeneration step, which is a step for carrying out regeneration of the weakly basic anion exchange resin. The control unit (15) continues the regeneration step when the ion concentration measured by the ion concentration measurement unit is less than a prescribed reference value, and ends the regeneration step at equal to or higher than the reference value.
