Abstract:
Provided are water repellent cellulose beads that have superior water repellency, spread easily on skin without leaving a white residue, and have a smooth feeling with little stickiness, as well as a manufacturing method therefor. These water repellent cellulose beads are obtained by using a hydrogenated lecithin with a phosphatidylcholine content of 40-85 mass% to surface-treat cellulose beads that have, for example, a volume-based cumulative 50% particle size of 3-15 μm and a sphericity of 0.6-1.0. This manufacturing method for water repellent cellulose beads has a step in which cellulose beads, a hydrogenated lecithin, and water are mixed to obtain a mixture liquid, and a step in which the mixture liquid is filtered.
