Abstract:
The present invention is a water-repellent aluminum material comprising an aluminum substrate, an anodic oxide film formed on the aluminum substrate, and a water-repellent layer formed along a surface of the anodic oxide film which is opposed to the aluminum substrate, in which the anodic oxide film has a plurality of fine pores, each of the fine pores has an opening on a flat upper surface of the anodic oxide film which is opposed to the aluminum substrate, a vertical cross-sectional surface of each of the fine pores which is taken along the direction of the depths of the fine pores has a shape that tapers down toward the bottom of the corresponding fine pore from the opening of the corresponding fine pore, and the water-repellent layer contains a substance having a low surface energy. According to the present invention, a water-repellent aluminum material can be provided, which has excellent water droplets sliding properties and excellent durability against running water and also has excellent practical utility.
