Abstract:
A washing machine, comprising: a water discharging passage (53) used for discharging water in a washing tub; and a valve mechanism (54) for opening and closing the water discharging passage (53). The valve mechanism (54) comprises: a box body (62) forming a part of the water discharging passage (53); a motor (63); a rod (65) having elasticity; and a roller (66) supported by the rod (65) and capable of rotating. The box body (62) is provided with an opening and closing portion (62C) capable of moving between a closed position and an open position farther from an opening (60D) than the closed position and capable of being elastically deformed. The motor (63) is provided with an output shaft (64) disposed farther from the opening (60D) than the opening and closing portion (62C). The rod (65) is connected to the output shaft (64). The roller (66) rotates around the output shaft (64) together with the rod (65) according to the work of the motor (63), so that the opening and closing portion (62C) moves from the open position to the closed position.
