Abstract:
A washing machine is disclosed. The washing machine comprises: a driving unit for rotating a wash tub; a turbidity sensor for sensing the turbidity of water in the wash tub; and one or more processors, which identify the weight of laundry contained in the wash tub when a user command for operating the washing machine is received, identify an economical mode to be an operation mode when the number of low-dirtiness levels identified on the basis of a dirtiness level identification history is a preset number or more, identify a normal mode to be an operation mode when the identified number of low-dirtiness levels is less than the preset number, initiate a washing process on the basis of weight in the identified operation mode, identify the dirtiness level of the inside of the wash tub on the basis of the turbidity of the water sensed by the turbidity sensor when a preset time has elapsed after the initiation of the washing process, and identify, on the basis of the identified dirtiness level, whether the washing process is to be finished.
